During
my many years as a physician in Sweden I clearly saw the influence that
emotional stress had on the physical health of my patients. It made me
interested in the emerging field of mind-body medicine and mind-body therapy.
I discovered the Rubenfeld Synergy training in the US, and after completion
of the 3-year training program, I now have 15 years of experience as a
Rubenfeld Synergist/body-mind counselor in this country.
With
this holistic background I offer a safe, accepting, and nurturing space
for stress release, self discovery, and healing..

I offer
you a unique, gentle, and empowering body-mind approach to stress reduction,
personal growth, and healing. The Rubenfeld Synergy Method® is an effective
synthesis of body-oriented counseling, mindfulness, guided imagery, and
relaxing, balancing bodywork (clothes on).
Listening
to the body-mind with awareness, acceptance, and compassion is a gateway
to a deeper connection to your whole self, and it makes change possible.
This kind of listening helps you identify and release unconscious patterns
and suppressed emotions from old traumas that may control how you feel
and behave in the present. It helps you reconnect to your strength and
inner wisdom, bring clarity, build confidence, and develop wellness-promoting
strategies for your everyday life.
Body-Mind
Integrated Approach to Bodywork
Want
to feel relaxed, calm and balanced?
I offer
you an integrative approach of deeply relaxing, balancing bodywork (clothes
on) combined with visualization, body awareness and reflective dialogue
(Rubenfeld Synergy Method®). This gentle bodywork uses elements from
Alexander technique and Feldenkrais movements to balance the body and release
energy blocks. Addressing body and mind as a unit while being in a relaxed
state helps you tap into the body’s innate healing capacity; experience
a deeper connection with your whole self; and generate balance, vitality
and well-being in your life.
My
passion is to help people create balance of body and mind, get in touch
with their authentic, resourceful selves, and find renewed energy and inspiration
in their daily lives.

The
bones of the body are largely impacted by the surrounding and supportive
tissues. If these tissues are tight, weak, malnourished, etc. the neighboring
joints will benefit from an adjustment but to a lesser degree. This is
why Dr. Ricker uses soft tissue techniques such as myofascial release,
ischemic compression, and PNF with every adjustment. It is important the
patient be involved in care every step of the way. Stretches, strengthening
exercises, posture training and ergonomic education for every patient gives
them tools to use to ensure a healthy lifestyle beyond their initial complaint.
Special interests include pediatric and pregnancy care, sports injury,
and changes of the musculoskeletal system due to obesity.
